Department of Pathology

The Pathology Department provides crucial services by examining the body fluids, tissues and organs, for the effective diagnosis of various diseases. Due to these accurate findings, our doctors are able to provide excellent treatments for the health ailments.

The department of pathology is categorized into three branches, namely Anatomical, Clinical and General.

Anatomical pathology :

In this pathology branch, the specimens of target body parts are collected by autopsy. Then the anatomical structures, and the texture of cells and their compositions are studied to know about the reasons for the diseases.

Clinical pathology :

In clinical pathology, tissue, urine, blood, cervical fluid, saliva, and all the other body fluids are collected and examined for the accurate diagnosis of the underlying diseases.

General pathology :

Changes in the functioning and structures of body parts, and the extent of health ailments in the body is determined by this department.

The role of precise diagnosis is very important in the medical field, because potential treatments for the diseases can only be provided by finding out the exact cause behind the respective health issues. Hence our pathological department features modern equipment and talented pathologists for offering impeccable services to the patients.

Mission
The mission of the Department of Pathology at the Santhiram medical college is to:
Provide the highest quality most effective support for the inpatient and outpatient clinical services. This support will be enhanced through centralization and consolidation of specialized laboratory services, which will provide evaluation and diagnosis in a timely and efficient fashion.

Vision
The vision for the Department of Pathology is to be recognized for excellence in clinical service, research and education through partnership with the clinical and scientific programs at santhiram medical college.
The department will be a destination for the best trainees and faculty and to Provide necessary core laboratory support to the scientific efforts at the Miller School of Medicine.
