Drugs are classified into Natural, Man-made and Endogenous (which are prepared by the human body itself). There are various chemical processes related to them, and their interaction with the human body is studied by the Pharmacology Department. For this purpose, the drug composition, properties, synthesis, functioning of cells and molecules, mechanisms of various body organ systems, toxicology, etc. are interpreted and understood by the Pharmacology students at the Santhiram Medical College.
The need of adept coaching is clearly evident in this field, to make the students knowledgeable about various chemicals and drugs, and their effect on the human body. A wide variety of laboratorial experiments should be conducted in this regard, and it makes the students understand the concepts better. Santhiram Medical College provides innovative teaching, coupled with excellent amenities for this purpose, and this trait has proven impeccable for our students.

Our mission is to provide quality preclinical and clinical education in pharmacology and therapeutics for medical students, to educate and train graduate and postdoctoral biomedical scientists, to carry out basic research of recognized excellence, and to participate in governance and leadership in the College of Medicine at santhiram.
